Hello all, I am looking for a y-axis lead screw for the original white 13 x 24 shark. I would be interested in purchasing this item as my old screw end has been damaged.
Thanks for your time,
John

Re: Vintage Lead Screw Help
John,
You can purchase the Hi-Lead (Acme 1/2 x .250 right Hand .25 lead) screw from Roton here:
https://www.roton.com/family/hi-lead-ri ... s-7060404/
Or, you can find it on Granger.com
I just purchased a couple from Roton as I'm upgrading my Shark Pro (all linear X and Y rails, and replacing the 3/8 X axis with the 1/2" screw) per this thread:
http://www.cncsharktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1342
Disadvantage is the lead screw does not come machined on the ends, so you'll have to purchase a different lead screw coupler to attach it to your motor, and make a bigger bearing hole for the Y to go into at the back of the base. I purchased my motor coupler (and a couple thread clamps) from http://www.dumpstercnc.com. Here is the link to their parts for the Acme 1/2-8 2 Start (4 turn per inch) lead screws

Hope that helps.
