Re: *** FORUM SHUTDOWN ***
I've enjoyed working with Kayvon in our quest to defend against the constant attacks by spammers. Kayvon is right. I checked our moderator logs and we're close to even with our spam deletion totals. However Kayvon holds the record for the most deleted in a day (300). My best was about 200 one day. I...

Re: Help with Z steps per unit
My first question is: Are you using the correct post processor? There are a lot listed for Sharks. Which one are you using? Also it this the first time using this machine? Has it been used before with good results? Have you contacted Next Wave CNC yet? https://nextwaveautomation.zendesk.com/hc/en-us...

Re: spindle coolant
Zeph,
Is there a reliable pump/reservoir that you can recommend? There seems to be a whole bunch available with a wide price range, and it's hard to choose.
Thankyou,
Bob

Re: Carving in dots instead of smooth lines
Would you please post your crv file.
I think it would tell me more than a tap file.
I suspect that you are trying to pocket a cut with a cutting tool that's the same size as the pocketed area.
But, I would like to take a look at the crv and see for sure.
Thanks,
Bob

Re: CP 2.1 not doing what the G Code says?
OK Dan, I loaded up your program and progressed through the windows for your settings and calculations. It all seemed good until I got to the last window (7). Either you had the wrong post processor selected, or my program defaulted to the wrong one. So my question is: Which post processor did you s...

Re: CP 2.1 not doing what the G Code says?
I'm curious. Would you be willing to post your .crv file? There might be some clues... Is this your first 3D carve? Have you done single sided 3D carves yet? How much experience have you had with the CNC? Back to the topic: Where are you setting your Z in the setup section of VCarve? To the table be...

Re: Carved pocket bottom not flat
Another thought: Does the bit return to the same Z zero position after the cut as when it started?

Re: Carved pocket bottom not flat
I can think of several things to check: 1. See if the material is shifting upwards during machining...see if the clamps are holding properly. It looks like you are using cam clamps. These can slip if the edges of the material are not gripping sufficiently. 2. Is the board warping as it is machined? ...

Re: Virtual Zero
The only time I've had a similar situation was when the wires connected to the touch plate were broken. The connection would be intermittent. I located the break at the plate connection and fixed it. That cleared up the problem. If you haven't checked connections yet, that would be my first recommen...
