We've been reaching out to Rockler for weeks to see if they would provide some software updates or tools to help us tackle the spam problem. The original Rockler guys that set up the forum are no longer with the company. Yesterday, out of the blue, the moderators recived this email...
It's very sudden. It's not the direction we were hoping for, of course, but keeping up with the spam has also gotten to be very onerous. A couple weeks ago, I manually deleted over 300 message in one day, one at a time. It's usually a dozen or so each morning. I would bet Bob deletes the same number on his end every day, too.As you know, Rockler has been the owner of CNC Shark Talk since it was created many years ago. The company has decided to discontinue the board in the coming weeks. We are going to be posting on the board that it is shutting down Monday, March 17th [sic].
We thank you for moderating the board. I have cc’d Rick Phillips from our IT department. Please let either of us know if you have any questions. Rick’s number is <redacted>.
CNC Shark Talk has been an exceptional resource for learning and fixing the sharks. While I know it's not the same, you'll still be able to find the discussions on archive.org.
It's been absolutely great getting to know you guys, learning CNC together, and sharing projects and experiences.
