Post Processor Changes Spindle Speed for Rotary Toolpath

Post by Zeph »

I have a Shark HD 510 and standard 4th axis. I'm carving a chess set and I have a roughing pass that I use my 1/4" end mill for. I have it set for 40 in/min and 18000 rpm in the tool database. However, when I create the toolpath, the post-processor I'm using: [CNCShark Rotary - Wrap Y (inch) -OrientX(*.tap)] changes the spindle speed in the G-Code to 2000 rpm - an entire order of magnitude slower. I'd like to change it back, but I want to make sure that there isn't a good reason for the extreme slow-down before I do.

If anybody can let me know why the post-processor slows down the spindle speed, it would be MUCH appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!
